Marriott's Free Night Award Deal Returns for Fall Bookings
Marriott is running a book-two-nights, get-a-third-free promotion for stays through the end of October. It applies to both points bookings and standard cash rates at participating properties, which is a wider scope than some of their past promotions that only covered one or the other.
How the discount actually works
For cash bookings, the third night's cost is automatically removed at checkout — you'll see the adjusted total before you pay, not after. For points bookings, Marriott credits the points cost of the cheapest of the three nights back to your account within a few days of check-in, rather than adjusting the booking itself.
Which hotels are included
Not every Marriott property is opted into this promotion. Full-service brands — Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, Westin, and W Hotels — are broadly included. Some independently franchised locations, especially smaller Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites properties, are not. Check the promotion page for a specific hotel's participation before booking around this deal specifically.
Cancellation terms
The promotional rate follows the same cancellation policy as the room type you book, which varies by hotel — some are fully refundable up to 24 or 48 hours before arrival, others are prepaid and non-refundable at a lower price. Read the specific rate rules before booking, since the free-night discount doesn't change the underlying refund policy.
Who should use this
This is most useful if you already had a multi-night stay planned, since the value comes from stacking nights, not from a single one-night stay. If you're piecing together a longer trip with stops at different hotels, it's worth checking whether concentrating nights at one Marriott property along the way makes the overall trip cheaper than splitting across brands.
Registration is required through Marriott Bonvoy's promotions page before booking — it does not apply automatically.
